BOOK BETH FOR A LIVE PROGRAM

QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Invite Beth to your school, writers conference, or other function for a fun and interactive question and answer session. Depending on the size of the group, Beth will either accept questions prior to the event, or take them from students on the spot. A popular choice among schools and libraries, this option is low-key and encourages engagement.

WRITING WORKSHOP: CRAFT

Ideal for middle grade to high school audiences, this tried-and-true writing workshop includes a hands-on writing session where students share their work. Each student will walk away with a clear idea of how to write a scene. Lesson can be adapted to match state curriculum or current reading assignments/themes within the classroom. Time is allowed for students to discuss writing and ask questions. An included, short presentation prior to the workshop gives insight to students on what it means to write for a career.

WRITING WORKSHOP: INSPIRATION

For serious writing students, this workshop weaves an in-depth presentation about careers in writing with two hands-on activities that Beth really uses while writing. Students will walk away with a clear idea of voice and plot structure for a short story or novel (which can be a great kick-off to an entire unit).

KEYNOTE SPEECH

Beth is comfortable speaking to any size group on topics on writing, inspiration, perseverance, and more. Her unique experience as a "ten-year overnight success" gives her a great foundation to build a speech on hard work and achieving one's dream.

WRITING INTENSIVE PROGRAM

Appropriate for adult students or serious high school students, this program can be adapted for one long course or a several-days long workshop at a convention.

With pointed, detailed lessons on every aspect of writing, this deep-dive into story takes students from idea to structured outline (or from rough draft to revised story). Students will walk away with packets of information and charts all about their work, and they will have a clear idea of what their next steps toward publication will be. With a section on querying and publishing, this is a must for any aspiring authors serious about their future career.

BOOK FESTIVALS, CONVENTIONS, PANELS & MORE

A fangirl herself, Beth loves attending book festivals, conventions, author signings, and other events that put her in front of her favorite people: her readers. If you are the organizer of any such event and would like Beth to speak, present, moderate or speak on a panel, please do not hesitate to reach out.

RESOURCES

THE PAPER HEARTS SERIES

The Paper Hearts series came from Beth’s desire to give back to the writing community. After years of posting articles and comments in answer to aspiring writers’ questions, Beth compiled the book in Wattpad. After more than 100,000 reads in Wattpad, Beth rewrote the collection into a comprehensive 3-book series with hundreds of pages of new content, practical advice, philosophy, charts, and more.

In addition to the three nonfiction titles on writing, publishing, and marketing, Beth has also developed two hands-on workbooks for aspiring authors. The first workbook is designed to help the author map out an idea to a finished manuscript. The second workbook is constructed like a journal to help organize ideas and develop themes.
